Beliefs
Here’s what we believe and how we aim to live it out as a church family.
Statement of Faith ⌄
We believe that the Bible is inspired by God and is the authoritative and infallible Word of God. It is our guide for faith and practice, revealing God's character, His plan of salvation, and His will for our lives.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal in power, glory, and authority, and are worthy of our worship and obedience.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God and the second person of the Trinity. We affirm His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death on the cross through His shed blood, and His victorious resurrection from the dead.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, demonstrating His victory over sin and death. We affirm His ascension to the right hand of the Father, where He intercedes for His people and reigns as Lord of all.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who indwells every believer upon salvation. The Holy Spirit empowers and enables us to live a godly life, equips us with spiritual gifts, and guides us into all truth.
We affirm the Nicene Creed and the Apostles' Creed as historic and orthodox statements of faith that accurately summarize the foundational beliefs of the Christian faith.
We acknowledge that this statement of faith is not exhaustive, and we recognize the value of ongoing dialogue and discussion regarding matters of faith and doctrine. We welcome conversations with anyone who seeks to deepen their understanding of God's Word and the teachings of the Christian faith.
At Oasis Church, we strive to live out these core beliefs in our worship, teaching, fellowship, and service. We seek to grow in our relationship with God and to share the love of Christ with others, inviting all to join us on this journey of faith.
Kingdom Of God, Spiritual Gifts, And Healing ⌄
We believe that the Kingdom of God refers to God’s active reign and rule, revealed through the life, ministry, death, resurrection, and ongoing work of Jesus Christ. The Kingdom is both present and future — already breaking into human history through redemption, transformation, and the work of the Holy Spirit, and yet awaiting its full consummation at Christ’s return.
We believe that Jesus proclaimed and demonstrated the Kingdom through teaching, healing, deliverance, forgiveness of sins, and the formation of a Spirit-empowered community. In sending His disciples, Jesus authorized ordinary believers to participate in this Kingdom mission through obedience, prayer, compassion, and faithful witness.
We believe in the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers with spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church and the advancement of God’s Kingdom. These gifts are given by grace, exercised in love, and governed by Scripture, humility, and accountability.
We affirm that God continues to heal today according to His will and mercy. Healing serves as a sign of God’s Kingdom and His restoring work in creation. We pray boldly for healing while trusting God with outcomes and remaining anchored in His goodness.
We reject any theology or practice that treats spiritual power as entitlement, performance, or commodity. We reject the blaming of individuals for suffering, manipulative or sensationalized ministry practices, spiritual elitism, and any approach that elevates experiences above Scripture, character, and Christ-centered discipleship.
We commit ourselves to a posture of obedient expectancy, humble dependence on the Holy Spirit, relational integrity within the body of Christ, and faithful proclamation of the gospel — seeking to reveal the Kingdom of God in word and deed while keeping our faith anchored in Jesus rather than outcomes or manifestations.
Regarding spiritual gifts, we affirm with the early Church and the Apostle Paul that the Holy Spirit Himself is the primary gift given to believers. The various manifestations of the Spirit are not owned, controlled, or elevated as markers of spiritual maturity, but are expressed through ordinary believers as the Spirit wills, for the loving service and edification of others. Spiritual gifts are never an end in themselves, but flow from a life submitted to Christ, shaped by Scripture, and rooted in humility and love.
